Reporting to the Head of Governance and Assurance, this role ensures our governance and quality assurance processes around business cases are fit for purpose. The role involves working closely with stakeholders at all levels across the business. As a Business Case Manager your main responsibilities would be: + Manage and lead the Business Case Review & Approvals Process which will include: + Providing expert guidance and advice to business areas on the requirements and development of business cases. + Preparing business cases and collaboratively and pro-actively managing them through the IPO's internal governance process and/or external governance if necessary. + Managing the central repository of business cases, control log and pipeline of future business cases to ensure transparency and clear audit trail. + Building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders within the IPO to resolve issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. + Providing management reports to IPO Committees as required. + Ensuring completion of relevant financial activities following approval of business cases. + Support the Head of Governance & Assurance in other areas, for example, application of Cabinet Office spend controls and associated pipeline process as required. + There are no line management responsibilities associated with this role. You'll have relevant experience in: + Demonstrable experience in producing high quality business cases + Excellent drafting and writing skills and be adept at communicating complex information according to the needs of the audience + A good understanding of Cabinet Office spend controls It would be great to also have: + Understanding of "Better Business Cases"; and "The Green Book: appraisal and evaluation in Central Government".
