Assistant Planning and Purchasing Manager About International RetailRetail Pharmacy International (excluding the UK & ROI) is a cross divisional organization of Walgreens Boots Alliance that is responsible for launch and development of International businesses, outside of US,UK and ROI. The organisation is focussed on growing the International Retail footprint, through a combination of owned business, franchise partners and relationships with third party retailers to sell our brands. From November 2020, International Retail will also take responsibility for the Retail Own Brand, Retail Exclusive Brand and Third Party Props brands UK product selection and delivery to our markets, to provide a varied and credible retail offer for our international customers. About International Retail SupplyInternational Retail Supply is a new function, that will form part of the Retail Partnerships structure. The remit of this team will be to enable strong supply of UK sourced Retail Own Brand, Retail Exclusive Brand and Third Party Props products into our international businesses.

International Retail Supply will play a key role in interfacing with International Retail Commercial team, Boots UK supply teams and external vendors as well as our warehouse networks to ensure a smooth delivery of the product assortment. We are based in Nottingham, UK and would love to hear from talented supply chain professionals who would like to join us in a small, focussed team with a large remit to deliver strong retail product offer to our customers. Overview of the RoleThe Assistant Planning and Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing the International Retail Supply plans and purchasing all planned requirements across the Retail Own Brand, Retail Exclusive Brand and Third Party Props brand assortment. The role is responsible for planning and purchasing of products from our vendor base, including Boots UK, into Alloga, and is responsible for the service level of all vendors.

The role reports to the International Retail Supply and Operations Manager Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning order requirements from vendors and BUK into Alloga

  • Responsible for transfer of market forecast into internal systems and Boots UK ASI

  • To determine the best way to maximize stock availability, working with vendors to ensure vendor order cycles and lead time support the best possible market service level

  • To support the supply planning relationship with Boots UK, as the key strategic supplier to International Retail

  • To actively collaborate with vendors on mid to long term plans to drive availability

  • To manage multiple and competing priorities across IR and vendors, including trade-off recommendations where required in consultation with IR Commercial and IR Outbound

  • To demonstrate a good understanding of the end-to-end supply chain and understand how to leverage supply planning parameters to reflect business priorities and achieve optimum service for the business.

  • To support the International Retail Supply and Operations Manager with the budgeting process for IR purchases and inventory and be responsible for delivering financial commitments

  • To actively manage and optimize inventory levels in order to reduce stock holding in Alloga to a minimum, focusing on excess & obsolete in the end to end supply chain Our Ideal Candidate, The successful applicant will join a vibrant team at the heart of delivery across a wide ranging product area for International Retail supply chain, working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
