Role is hands carrying out maintenance of the Mechanical Infrastructure and having the ability to carry out breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
Participation in a shift system working at the London Data Centre.
To be familiar with the mechanical applications normally encountered within critical technical Enviroments.
To be aware of Safe Systems of Work and its application, performed under the terms of the MITIE Services contract.
To take control of any works requested by the Area Controller through to completion.
This role requires the jobholder to have the capability to take command of any works handed down, to control the quality as well as deliver a prompt and safe completion of any works.
This role requires the jobholder to be an Air Conditioning Engineer with additional experience of Dry Coolers/Chiller systems and a good understanding of Electrical systems, together with Health & Safety awareness.
To also have the ability to perform maintenance tasks effectively, efficiently and safely. Must be in possession of accreditations/assessment criteria commensurate with this position.
Participation in a 24/7 on call rota if required
To perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on all associated equipment, including fault finding and repair
Operation of plant and equipment. Inspection of Mechanical equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation in accordance with agreed procedures and company quality standards.
To take control of works issued by the Area Controller through to completion
Provide technical incident reports where requested and provide supporting documentation of incidents.
Participate in the upkeep of records on servicing of plant and equipment and maintaining the plant asset registers.
To be willing and capable of using the Concept Maintenance system as a means of day to day working
Participate in adherence to MITIE Quality System documentation.
To carry out any reasonable request to perform duties which are normal custom and practice in a maintenance environment
To obey MES company rules and maintain a high standard of discipline and dress
To be knowledgeable and up to date in matters relating to Health and Safety. To attend company sponsored training on Health and Safety or technical aspects when requested
To be willing to undertake training in other trades, i.e. Electrical, control sytems, heating systems etc.
Ability to work unsupervised.
To work on any contracted site when requested, where such request is reasonable, within the person's competency and their terms of employment.,
Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

Relevant qualification to National Certificate/Diploma Level, City and Guilds, or equivalent
Previous air conditioning installation and maintenance skills essential
Refrigerant Handling qualification. (F-GAS J-11)
Clean driving licence
Demonstrable experience of managing and implementing change programmes
Demonstrable examples of innovation
Excellent customer interface skills
Keenness and an ability/willingness to learn new skills
Use of IT tools
