Balfour Beatty VINCI has an exciting opportunity for a Works Manager to join the Precast Segmental Viaducts team on HS2 in Water Orton, Birmingham., To provide management, leadership and control of a multi-disciplinary team comprising General Foremen, Section Foremen, Junior Foremen and Gangers.
What you'll be doing
Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and encourages others to work safely through training, briefings and by his self-exemplarity
Be familiar with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies
Ensures that the staff and workforce receive or have access to copies of the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and associated procedures and are effectively communicated to them
Delivers the works in accordance with safe system of works described in the Method Statements and the Risk Assessments
Identifies Health, Safety and Environmental resources needs with the construction manager
Contributes to Accident / Incident Investigations. Reviews and directs the appropriate action arising (HFACS and Four Page Reports)
Complies with the relevant permits to work requirements making sure they are in place before works commences
Ensures that adequate first aid and welfare facilities are maintained at each site or discrete work location
Ensures that sufficient resources are allocated to the Works Section and that each has an appropriate level of ability
Able to carry out constructive analysis of fully resourced programme
Implements and tracks the requirements of three-week programme and coaches others in ensuring programme requirements are fully understood, suggests improvements as appropriate
Involved in the procurement of subcontractors and advises on commercial aspects / preferred attendances
Experience as a works manager on Civil Engineering major construction projects
Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
