Balfour Beatty VINCI has an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Engineer to join the Major Structures team on HS2 in Birmingham.
To provide expert knowledge, management, guidance and implementation of safe systems of work for the avoidance of underground services and management of knowledge transfer for new and located services.
What you'll be doing
Develop and deliver agreement in principle (AIP), asset protection and utilities design documents to conclude New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
Deliver requisite New Connections.
Pulling together a list of the temporary works required.
Assess methods are being used within the sublot for construction and do these have any impact on the utilities.
Identify the additional utility assets that need to be diverted/protected/assured/removed(/other).
Undertake checks at all compound locations for any diversions that are necessary.
Ensure consistency between all documents and ensure that all utilities are accounted for and the Utility Provider is known, including contact details.
Review and raise Technical Queries to ensure clarity of requirements. Manage and maintain the construction readiness process and checklists.
Practical on-site experience delivering construction projects, including the management of utilities - diversion, removal, protection, assurance.
Strong critical evaluation skills, problem solving, interpersonal and team-working skills
