To support the development of, and drive a Talent and Future skills strategy for Boots UK , Boots ROI and Boots Opticians that enables a strong pipeline of talent and skills to resource our business ambitions and plans, partnering with key stakeholders to enable the business to proactively manage the flow of talent.

The Talent Manager will be responsible for building and implementing talent solutions at scale to support retention, growth and development and career mobility including Talent review, Succession planning, Talent forums and for targeted areas Strategic Workforce Planning.

About the opportunity

The Talent Manager will report into the Senior Manager Talent, Employability & Future Skills in the HR Capability function supporting the development of our Talent, Employability and Skills strategy, proactively driving engagement across the business.

  • Develop and implement a pragmatic talent management framework and tools incorporating all aspects of the talent management lifecycle including assessment, succession and career management to critically assess capability needs and gaps

  • Develop and manage robust data and simplification of process in the longer term via automation and digitization of approach, constructing and socialising options on Talent metrics to allow progress to be measured including targets such as DEI.

  • Responsible for developing Talent Management capability across the organisation to drive consistency and effectiveness in how we know, grow and move talent around the business connecting the dots across functional teams

  • Provide an expert view to our approach on assessment skills ensuring application of principles of validity, cost effectiveness and DEI are incorporated into selection.

  • Grow our approach to strategic workforce planning ensuring that we look at both short and longer term talent needs, working in partnerships with stakeholder to build tangible action plans to drive output from this work.

Candidate Description

  • Experience building, implementing and managing Talent Management processes

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate metrics and insights to inform future plans and confident with data and platforms.

  • The ability to engage and influence senior business leaders and teams across multiple divisions on a Talent agenda

  • The ability to think and plan strategically with a commercial mind-set leading cross-functional projects at pace

  • An MSc in Industry/Organisational Psychology would be an advantage
