The Stores Manager will oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a range of material, equipment and plant across the various main stores and compounds within the northern section of HS2. The role will also contribute to the development of the supply chain and its processes and will introduce and manage people, processes, equipment and systems in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately to meet internal stakeholder requirements
What you'll be doing
Assist in the selection/procurement and installation of a stores/stock control management system. Designing and setting out of stores buildings and compounds, ensuring safe, accessible and secure utilisation of space. Overseeing a team of inventory or warehouse employees and motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure the highest stores standards are achieved. Responsibility for the management, maintenance and safe operation of all stores plant and equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements. Manage a core stock of materials against agreed stock levels and budgets. Liaise with BBV construction teams to ensure availability and supply of materials or plant. Liaise with BBV Procurement and Materials Controller regarding all orders, including call off of blanket order materials. Introduced processes to support the quality management system Evaluate deliveries, storage and any issues that may arise to improve inventory and stores management control. Interface with HS2 logistics and the Supply Chain with regards to deliveries.
Experience in stores/materials management; including knowledge of the interface with the procurement system e.g. Oracle R12. Experience in implementing and managing stores systems. An innovative manager to deliver a professional stores management service. Knowledge of construction supply chain. Knowledge of stores, plant and equipment. Health, safety and environment experience relevant to stores buildings and operation. Management of remote teams.
