Balfour Beatty VINCI are seeking a Senior Works Manager to join the Major Structures team on HS2! You will be joining an experienced, fast-paced team in Birmingham

What you'll be doing

  • Carries out periodic Safety & Environment Tours as required by the Project H & S Plan

  • Contributes to Accident / Incident Investigations. Reviews and directs the appropriate action arising (HFACS and Four Page Reports)

  • Appraises improvement options and leads action / instigates as appropriate

  • Keeps up to date with changes in legislation and cascades information to the team

  • Ensures that sufficient resources are allocated to the Works Section and that each has an appropriate level of ability

  • Takes ownership of tasks and quality requirements

  • Inputs into the setting of targets and KPI™s in line with Project objectives and monitors performance

  • Works with the Team Lead to ensure appropriate action is taken on findings from site audits / checks

  • Implements relevant Business Management systems and processes

Candidate Description

  • Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card

  • Working knowledge of the NEC and other relevant forms of contract and able to develop professional relationship with Client representatives

  • Experience working on major infrastructure schemes in a similar role

Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) is responsible for designing and building part of the most exciting and challenging infrastructure project in Europe: HS2.

We are building the West Midlands section of HS2's Phase One route, spanning approximately 90km from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
