Senior Support Worker - female only

We're looking for someone who has experience in a senior support worker role or is an experienced support worker who has undertaken additional duties with a great heart and passion to succeed to come and work as a Senior Support Worker at our specialist behavioural support service in Bartley Green. Candidate's with a Full UK Drivers Licence are preferred.

It's crucial that you have experience and an understanding of autism and learning disabilities.

This role is supporting a young gentleman in his own home where you will act as the shift lead and keyworker. You will work alongside the Field Support Supervisor. We will deliver intense support during difficult times, so it's essential that you have experience in supporting people with anxieties and communication difficulties who may present with challenges to the service.

Minimum of a NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is essential.

We will provide a paid two-week comprehensive training package and induction to support you in your role, and we offer a competitive pay rate.

About this job -

Overseeing Support Workers, our Senior Support Workers implement care plans, completing supervisions & appraisals & being the lead for the team. You'll operate in local community settings and the person's own home providing hands-on care to the people we support, so you can expect total involvement in everything we do.

Our specialist supported living service in Bartley Green supports one individual with a learning disability and autism, who may have additional mental health conditions and challenging behaviour.

The aim of the service is to enable the individual to live a fulfilled life, as independently as possible. You will develop positive, respectful and trusting relationships with the people we support to improve their confidence and self-esteem, incorporating both therapeutic and social based activities.

You must be resilient, flexible and composed in your approach, following Positive Behaviour Support plans and understanding the importance of reflective practice to ensure the best outcomes for the person.

Whilst no two days are the same, typically you'll enable people to achieve a range of outcomes relating to their personal care, daily living skills, relationships and accessing community activities.

Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or autism who display challenging behaviour or have a mental health condition is preferred.

**Should your employment with Voyage Care terminate for any reason within the first 3 months of your employment start date, the full cost of the DBS will be repayable back to us. Deducted from your final salary.
