Do you want to be part of a growing in-house strategy consulting team, who are at the very heart of projects & initiatives that are helping transform the Virgin Media O2 Fixed & Mobile networks? If the answer is yes, then our Senior Strategy Manager role might be what you are looking for. The Senior Strategy Manager role is embedded in the Assessments Team, which is a dedicated group of Strategy Consultants, Senior Strategy Consultants & Senior Strategy Managers whose main remit is to support NSE & CTO leadership in addressing strategic Virgin Media O2 challenges.

Advisory Team projects & initiatives are fast paced and require our Senior Strategy Managers to take ownership of the project direction and final output, which will involve balancing content development with senior stakeholder management. Our Strategy Manager's are expected to work both independently and with virtual teams of internal subject matter experts, where you will collaborate to solve some of the biggest commercial, technical & operating model challenges that Virgin Media O2 faces.

Our project domains are primarily, but are not limited to; operating model refinement, operational / unit level strategy, budget modelling / optimization & strategic options analysis. To succeed our Strategy Managers will combine industry insights, consulting methodologies & strategic thinking to deliver high impact organizational, technical & commercial transformation.

The Assessments Team act as a trusted partner & advisor by delivering rigorous, structured & well-articulated strategic insights to enable NSE / CTO senior management decision making. This is high profile role, with significant exposure to CTO / NSE senior leadership and for the right candidate offers a fantastic opportunity to gain senior level insights into Virgin Media O2.,

  • The Assessments Team projects and the ad-hoc fast paced insight requests that cascade down from the CTO office by providing fast turnaround & high impact analysis to guide NSE / CTO senior leadership decision making

  • As part of Assessments Team projects, you will identify improvements areas and advise NSE / CTO senior leadership of the best options for implementation

  • You will facilitate the development of network modelling data, ROM commercial cases, full business cases, investment cases as part of NSE projects, programmes & initiatives

  • Stakeholder management and communications will be part of all Assessments Team projects and it will be the role of our Strategy Managers to align with all parties to achieve consensus-based decision making

  • Our Strategy Managers are expected to support developing Senior Consultants & Consultants within the Assessments Team, whilst also contributing to the growth of the team through knowledge sharing, recruitment & onboarding

Candidate Description

  • As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will have extensive strategy experience in a consulting firm or corporate strategy role

  • Excellent communication and presentational skills with proven experience of being able to distil complex themes and strategic recommendations into simple unambiguous messages for senior management

  • Your highly effective communication skills, allowing you to build trust and credibility with project stakeholders and driving key project outcomes

  • You have demonstrated experience in managing fast paced projects and possess strong leadership qualities to management expectations and help guide project team members

  • A proven capability in absorbing complex information and translating into concise / simplified insights for senior leaders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in order to deliver recommendations around the viability of product development, technology & operating model change proposals

  • Cable or telecoms experience is beneficial, but not essential as we also value insights and methodologies from other industries

  • Knowledge of Telecoms (fixed network or mobile) is beneficial, but not essential given that we regularly draw upon subject matter expert insights from across Virgin Media O2
