An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the leadership team of Asda Business Services, on a job share basis. This role has shared responsibility for leading a team of over 70 colleagues and 3 direct reports with the goal of delivering optimal services across the Procure to Pay process.

This role focuses on optimising operational delivery and providing best in class service to our suppliers and internal stakeholders. To do this, you will need excellent team leadership skills, the energy and drive to work in a fast-paced operational team and a commitment to continuous process improvement. We're also about to go into major systems changes, this role will require innovative thinking and a solutions mindset to make the most of the opportunities our technology reset affords us.

The role includes: Accounts Payable, Supplier Helpdesk, Goods Not for Resale Operational Procurement, Payments, Master Data Management and Operational System Support

Your Role

This role is on a job-share basis, expected to be 3 days per week (though other working days will be considered). Specific days and split of responsibilities will be assessed after interview process.

  • Develop and execute the team's strategy and ensure delivery of the day-to-day operations.

  • Effectively lead 3 direct teams to deliver operational excellence and deliver key metrics.

  • Build strong relationships across the wider Asda business to promote the ABS brand and work collaboratively to develop the service offering

  • Get involved in strategic and cross-functional projects and ensure objectives are aligned to ABS strategy/capabilities

  • Continue to build and develop high performing teams to support delivery of objectives with a focus on innovation and opportunities for process transformation

Candidate Description

  • Due to the complexity and exciting amount of change in this role from Project Future - experience of AP operations and managing large teams is essential.

  • Leadership skills: Have the ability to deliver through others and manage a diverse group of colleagues

  • Process mindset: ability to identify process gaps & opportunities to improve, using technology as appropriate.

  • Financial Control: maintaining a strong control environment by ensuring adherence to multiple financial controls and compliance requirements

  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyse a broad range of complex problems and distil them down to a clear and structured strategy and plan

  • Judgement: Able to evaluate current processes and identify efficiencies and opportunities for simplification

  • Communication: Have a strong and effective communication style comfortable to operate at all levels and has the capability to influence others to deliver results

  • Networking: Capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ethics and Compliance: Strong pride in ensuring we adhere to Asda's ethics and compliance policies and procedures
