The role of the Senior HFC Designer is to provide technical and design leadership, ensuring architecture and engineering designs for node re-segmentation and capacity upgrades are delivered in a cost effective and timely manner. You will be accountable for assisting the end-to-end network design process, including forecasting, managing, and reporting progress to senior leadership team, providing timely updates on project status, as well as, drive continuous improvement of network design activities across the HFC design arena.,

  • Assist with tracking and reporting on all areas of design work in progress and ensure designs are produced and issued in-line with applicable SLAs and statutory requirements.

  • Responsible for the Quality Assurance of complex infrastructure designs ensuring the latest relevant architectural guidelines and standards including RF and major fibre upgrades are adhered to.

  • Work with relevant planning areas providing technical expertise and cost analysis in the delivery of capacity upgrades.

  • Provide technical leadership and support design issues encountered by both the design partners and field build partners.

  • Develop and coach the design team & design partners to appropriate enhance skills & understanding on latest standards, technologies, products and design requirements.

Candidate Description

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Extensive network design background across multiple Virgin Media O2 fixed network franchises and architectures.

  • Excellent knowledge of the Virgin Media O2 RF and fibre design principles.

  • Civils design experience preferably with NSWRA accreditation and an understanding of noticing arrangements with Local Authority.

    We'd also love you to bring;

  • Ability to read and interpret OTDR test results. A strong background in all applications of Health & Safety within the industry.

  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

  • Working experience with many Virgin Media O2 systems including Gcomms, FORCE, Fulcrum, BIS, Remedy, Visio and all other Microsoft software.
