Ideally the candidate shall have experience as a CRE and therefore knowledge of the above role and following the NR/L2/RSE/02009 engineering management standard in SCADA projects.

PR01 - Demonstrate application of, and compliance to Engineering Assurance processes and requirements that relate specifically to the discipline for which they are being appointed.

PR02 - Demonstrate experience of reviewing works to ensure discipline requirements are met and relevant discipline standards are complied with.

PR03 - Demonstrate participation in IDCs, joint IDC/IDR meetings or technical reviews.

PR04 - Demonstrate application of the Network Rail acceptance review, derogation and non-compliance processes relevant for the specific discipline for which they are being appointed.

R05 - Demonstrate experience of supporting CEM on engineering matters relevant to the discipline including acting as the discipline engineering interface to suppliers and third parties.

PR06 - Demonstrate experience of identifying hazards, risks and mitigations relevant to their discipline.

PR07 - Demonstrate experience of adhering to documents stating technical requirements with respect to discipline to which they are being appointed e.g. Discipline CR-Ts.

PR08 - Demonstrate experience of production of, reviewing and accepting evidence provided for the discipline against technical requirements.

Knowledge Requirements (KR) - Individual shall have knowledge of: Suggested Route(s) to Knowledge:

KR01 - The contents and application of the GRIP standard (NR/L2/INI/P3M/101).

KR02 - The contents and application of the Engineering Management for Projects standard (NR/L2/RSE/02009).

KR03 - The contents and application of the Engineering life[1]cycle (IELCP) standard relevant to the discipline.

KR04 - An understanding of the IELCP phase gate and stage/phase gate review processes.

R05 - The purpose, content of and ownership of Detailed Route Requirement Documents (DRRD) and the discipline specific Contract Requirements - Technical (CR-T).

KR06 - The process to be followed for standards variations.

KR07 - The complexity of the railway infrastructure system and sub-systems and how to manage this complexity on projects.

KR08 - Different engineering disciplines and the relationships and interdependencies between them.

KR09 - The hierarchy of relevant engineering standards and legislation from TSIs to Network Rail guidance notes applicable to the discipline.

KR10 - Current discipline specific standards, legislation and codes of practice.

KR11 - The application of, and requirements relating to CDM for the discipline assets.

KR12 - The processes for the definition, management and update of asset information relevant to the specific discipline.

KR13 - How the assets delivered by the discipline are part of a wider project and asset management lifecycle and governed by processes detailed within the Asset Management Plan and Entry Into Service Standards.

KR14 - The process for introducing new assets or affecting existing assets on Network Rail infrastructure relevant to the discipline.

KR15 - Factors that influence the Whole Life costs of discipline assets e.g. the novelty and complexity of the assets being introduced, the operational environment, sustainability and environmental factors.

KR16 - Requirements associated with compatibility of the discipline assets being introduced e.g. EMC, ergonomics, gauging, interfaces with other disciplines, loading, safe integration, stepping distances at platforms, technical compatibility with trains (existing and planned).

KR17 - The processes regarding BIM for Network Rail, and how the specific project is implementing BIM

CRE01 Competence managed within the 'Project Engineering' framework of competencies.
