Digital Project Manager Inside IR35

Contract Term: 12 months

Contracting Authority: MOD JFC

Location: Salisbury Porton Down - Hybrid Working

As an Digital Project Manager, your main responsibilities would be:

  • Create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Day to day management and leadership of the project. Provide effective leadership and management controls. Set project controls. Design the project structure and organisation appropriate to stage. Set appropriate delivery methodologies. Manage effective transition between project phases.
  • Develop and draft the business case, with input from specialists as necessary.
  • Develop the budget and track delivery within budget.
  • Identify skill requirements and engage management to deploy and balance resource available.
  • Deliver the agreed business case benefits and outcomes. Ensure appropriate Benefits Realisation Strategy is in place.
  • Identify and manage stakeholder relationships and need for senior level support. Manage internal and external relationships as appropriate.
  • Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. Identify and work with related projects to manage interdependencies.
  • Support effective governance and decision making. Provide reporting and engage in mechanisms that hold the Project Manager to account for delivery.
  • Engage with assurance reviews and support action on recommendations. Organise assurance processes such as gateway reviews, as required.
  • Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
  • Cascade vision and translate into delivery objectives for the team. Develop and maintain project plan. Identify and set appropriate project controls. Manage performance and report progress to sponsors.
  • Coordinate requirement activities, their validation and sign-off ensuring that the needs of the key stakeholders are articulated determining the need and value of performing the activity based on the context.

You'll have relevant experience in:

  • SC/CTC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks
  • Delivery of tasks and projects to time cost and quality
  • Project management experience
  • Proven ability to mentor
  • Able to demonstrate a mature Networking capability
  • Able to demonstrate management and implementation of process change.


  • Active SC/CTC Clearance
  • Awareness of other PM methodologies, e.g. Agile; PRINCE 2
  • Commercial awareness
  • An understanding of the background, knowledge, and experience of delivering projects within the capability discipline using project management approaches, tools and techniques
  • Awareness of the capability disciplines required to deliver the requirement
  • Proven track record in delivering Digital Projects
