Business Analyst - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 12 months

Contracting Authority: Ministry of Defence

Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in Bristol

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.

To do this we have an annual budget of almost £40 billion and a workforce comprising 193,000 people, almost 59,000 of whom are civilians. We currently manage more than £11 billion of spend every year.

As a Business Analyst your main responsibilities would be:

  • Understanding and analysing user and business needs, ensuring outcomes are aligned with service vision and business strategy.
  • Challenging constructively to achieve solutions that are fit for purpose.
  • Facilitating collaboration and lead effective communication with all stakeholders to support design, build and delivery.
  • Employing a range of tools and techniques to gather business and user requirements against the clear objectives articulated for the project.
  • Evaluating requirements against the present state and the target state and identify opportunities to develop successful business requirements.
  • Assisting Business Improvement teams with identification of BAU enhancements and their solutions.

Essential:

  • Demonstratable experience in a Business Analysis position.
  • The ability to drive the analysis and collection of information to create recommendations for service improvements.
  • Experience of analysing large amounts of complex information and using it to produce solutions.
  • The ability to gather insight from senior stakeholders and communicate modelling results clearly to them.
  • SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the MOD working environment.
  • Recent experience of business analysis in an established ITSM service delivery organisation
  • Experience of Agile methodology.
