Safety and Assurance Lead - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 6 Months

Contracting Authority: MOD

Location: Andover (Travel to Bristol and Wales will also be required)

Purpose of the role:

You will be an experienced and qualified Safety Assurance Lead, able to provide coordination of all Army safety and hazard related input for the safe and compliant delivery of relevant programmes ensuring compliance to Statutory and Regulatory Policy obligations.

As a, your main responsibilities would be:

  • Provide Safety Assurance advice and guidance to SRO and Programme Director.
  • Lead as Programme SME for Safety to identify and communicate Safety hazards.
  • Coordinate and support relevant lead user in the development of the Safety argument to ensure coherence with procedures.
  • Support and report on the development of all part 2 and part 3 of safety cases.
  • Provide assurance of the Safety Argument presented at the Part 3 Safety Case to the SRO and Field Army user for their signature.
  • Provide day to day management of Safety Assurance and support coordination.
  • Manage the process for Safety risk articulation and reporting along with identification and management of relevant mitigation measures.
  • Share safety Learning from experience across all other major equipment programmes.

You'll have relevant experience in:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (OSH).
  • Cranfield System Safety Practitioner Exam.
  • Sustainable Development in Defence Acquisition.
  • Institute of Naval Medicine (INM) vibration course.

You will have these essential skills and qualifications:

  • Security Cleared
  • HS&EP Practitioner.
  • System Safety In Action Online & Workshop.
  • System Safety Process Management Online & Workshop.
  • System Safety Practitioner Online & Workshop
  • Health and Safety - CSL Learning Package. HSS12CS.
  • Environmental Awareness 2.2 - DLE (V399)
  • Environmental Awareness and compliance in Defence - DA-CMT (EACD).
