Therefore, we are delighted to be investing in our Reward team, recruiting a Reward Specialist to join us as we embark on a programme of work to improve our Reward offering against the backdrop of a change of ownership.

We are committed to changing how we do things and restless to improve and stay relevant in an ever-changing market. As a Reward Specialist, you will drive change by researching, providing a theoretical viewpoint, analysing, and then implementing Reward projects. For this role, you will need to be a true self-starter, managing your own agenda at pace.

We will provide you with a platform for continuous development but will expect you to use that knowledge and make us better. You will be at the crux of lots of work and activity at Asda, here are the key things you will be doing:

  • Using your deep knowledge of Reward you will spot opportunities for the business to enhance how we Reward our colleagues. Asda has moved to P/E ownership and this means lots of change for Reward, and therefore lots of opportunity to shape the future!

  • Develop and communicate reward guidelines and policies to support the wider business, looking at Reward matters ranging from our hourly paid colleagues to our board members.

  • Benchmark and research external reward programmes, complete competitor reward surveys, and prepare summary reports

  • Manage relationships with external suppliers

  • Work with our Shared Services function to ensure reward activity is implemented on time and within budget

  • Align with both Remuneration Committee activities and the Diversity and Inclusion strategy to ensure fair pay is embedded in all reward decisions for the entire workforce.

Candidate Description

You will possess genuine enthusiasm and curiosity for Reward and a lifelong learning mentality in order to ensure you stay relevant in your career. You will be looking for a role that allows you the opportunity and platform to make a genuine impact on a business.

You will be highly analytical, technically proficient as well as creative. You will be a team player and readily support your colleagues at times of peak activity. We are open minded on background but this role will likely suit someone from an in-house Reward team or Reward consultancy background.

You will be experienced in analysing data (strong excel ability is a must), turning the complex into simple verbal outputs that all can understand. You will write papers for HR leadership and the board.

You will understand and draw from Reward theory and best practice. And also, you will be skilled at building relationships with HR Business Partners and stakeholders within other areas of the business
