Our client Lloyds Banking Group is a leading UK based financial services group providing a wide range of banking and financial services, focused on personal and commercial customers. On behalf of Lloyds Banking Group, AMS are looking for a Project Manager for an initial 12 Month Contract based on a hybrid basis in either London or Edinburgh (2 days per week in office).

Purpose of the Role:

We're looking for a highly motivated Project Manager to join a knowledgeable and enthusiastic team to deliver a project focused on cost management.

You'll join the Network Management team in Markets & Lending Delivery, within the Commercial Banking division of Lloyds Banking Group. The team is only small, but has a big responsibility, maintaining relationships with our Markets account providers, including our Nostro banks; custodian banks and central clearing counterparties. The team also leads our industry engagement, attending industry and trade body events, developing intelligence on advances that may benefit, or events that may be of consequence, to the Group.

The team doesn't lack knowledge, or experience, when it comes to its usual responsibilities, but it doesn't usually run projects. As a result, we need a Project Manager to join the team, leading an exciting initiative to redefine our approach to cost management, delivering solutions to reduce risk and improve the quality of data available for decision making.

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Accurately understanding and defining the problem statement; outlining business benefits; drafting business requirements; identifying potential solutions, and supporting delivery of applications and processes that achieve our desired outcomes.
  • Utilising your experience and understanding of Project Management methodologies and techniques. Organising and driving activity to keep us on track with our stated objectives.
  • Creating an effective communication plan to nurture relationships, and devise mitigating action plans to manage risks and issues.
  • Utilising existing colleagues from impacted teams to help delivery and influencing without direct authority.
  • Driving sustainable change that delivers positive, measurable results, and demonstrate that you have the ability to assess the impact of change on the organisation, our colleagues and our customers, collaborating with our teams to factor this into implementation plans.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Experience of working in teams passionate about challenging convention and making a difference;
  • Experience of the Markets environment, Investment Banking or Life cycle of a trade;
  • Professional qualification in a recognised project field i.e. Prince 2; Agile; APMP; Lean Six Sigma etc.
  • Experience delivering projects with tangible benefits;
  • An ability to distil complex information, assess options and find opportunities using a logical and pragmatic approach
  • Strong presentation skills; evidence of creating outputs suitable for a senior audience, demonstrating good judgement to successfully present ideas, issues and implications;
  • Evidence of building and maintaining relationships across multiple teams and functions to deliver collaboratively;
  • Ability to lead on the delivery of initiatives, work independently and be comfortable with holding others accountable for delivery.
