  • We're looking for dedicated, innovative and driven talent to join our expanding UK team. We require an experienced Project Manager with exposure to the manufacturing process as applied to the life science industry and in particular, pharmaceutical production sphere.

  • As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of a project in its entirety (within time, cost and quality), from the project kick-off until completion.


    Stakeholder Management:

  • Main point of contact with client

  • Commercial point of contact with client

  • Ensure regular communication with stakeholders and actions to respond to concerns

    Project Governance:

  • Represent the project at client project approval boards

  • Chair weekly project meetings with project team members to review risks/issues, schedule, next week look ahead, agree escalations


  • Support the project Sponsor and stakeholders in defining the project scope and governance

  • Develop and maintain project schedule in conjunction with project team and stakeholders

  • Create the finance plan for work required during all project phases

    Monitoring and reporting:

  • Prepare weekly progress reports for client

  • Track delivery vs. the plan (time and cost), and act on variances

  • Represent the project at weekly tiered accountability meetings and escalate project issues where appropriate

  • Provide regular progress reports to the Steering Group, highlighting variances and escalations

    Project execution:

  • Ensure appropriate resourcing, funding and Sponsor commitment before undertaking each stage of the project

  • Ensure timely delivery of all project components to agreed timescale and cost

  • Motivate and direct the project team

  • Ensure deployment standard processes are followed and, where appropriate, update as a result of lessons learned

  • Ensure that project processes and deliverables follow those specified in the project Quality / Validation Plan and that Quality / Validation plans are regularly reviewed throughout the project

  • Ensures that project schedules are fully resource loaded and that resources are available to work on tasks detailed in the schedule, including any site based resources

  • Responsible for Project to Service Transition

    Change Management:

  • Identifies, documents and gains approval for project changes against baseline

  • Manages agreed changes by ensuring plans are updated and re-baselined

    Risk and Issue Management:

  • Assess risks and develops strategies to manage risk

  • Manage issue/problem resolution and escalation

Candidate Description

  • Experience of working on IT / Business change projects within a Validated Environment

  • Exposure to the concepts of Manufacturing Operations Management and business process workflow

  • Some exposure to the end to end workflow of at least one major pharmaceutical manufacturing process e.g. Primary, secondary, packaging

  • Ability to manage and develop a team

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Familiar with structured project execution methodology and standards

  • Knowledge of MES within a Pharmaceutical environment (preferable)

  • An appreciation of the project lifecycle and quality management processes.
