This Project Officer role sits within the Business Change Department, which covers the counties of Devon, Cornwall and Dorset. We are responsible for delivering multi-million pound projects and change activity across both Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police forces, and this exciting role is to provide valuable support to our Project Managers, and their associated teams, in the delivery of this great range of projects.
Typically, we are running around 30 projects at a time, ranging from system upgrades, departmental/ staffing restructuring, changes to infrastructure, new and evolving technology and evolution into the modern world of robotic automated processes.
You would become a valued member of our friendly and welcoming Business Change Team, comprised of a variety of roles bursting with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Specifically, the Project Officer role sits within the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), within Business Change and would receive incredible training and mentoring to ensure you feel confident and equipped in delivering this crucial role .,
Supporting project managers.
Progression of activity to enable change - including research, assurance, organising, planning, and reporting.
Creating and updating project documents, plans and logs.
Taking and typing or recording minutes, actions and decisions at meetings.
Arranging and sending out meeting invites via MS Outlook.
Preparing reports and presentations etc.
Demonstrating personal initiative by undertaking research and analysis to improve the effectiveness of a project.
Translating process maps/ diagrams (training provided)., This department boasts a great deal of flexibility, with a hybrid-working approach - meaning whilst the role will be based from either Dorset Police HQ Winfrith or D&C Police HQ Exeter, there is the opportunity for all staff to work from other locations that suit them, including at home, but with the understanding that there is still a requirement to attend appropriate locations/ meetings that fit the task or project you are working on when necessary. The department also offer flexible hours and a 'flexi-time' policy whereby any additional hours worked can be claimed back in lieu.

Excellent communication and team working skills
Organised and efficient, with the ability to work to unsupervised within pressured timescales
Fully competent and experienced in MS Office applications
Experience of working within a project environment or similar is useful
Knowledge/ awareness of PRINCE2 Agile / project methodology is beneficial, with a willingness to work towards the formal qualification
This is currently a temporary agency assignment with the potential of becoming permanent after 12 weeks for the right candidate - there are further employee benefits for permanent staff.
