Job Description
The candidate holder will be responsible for keeping up to date the Key Events Schedule (40 construction projects in the capital programme) and the Master Projects Programme (approximately 200 construction projects) within the Estates Strategy, Capital Projects Plan, Engineering Programme, Buildings Improvements Programme, Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT), and backlog and planned maintenance programme.
The candidate will also assist the Senior Programme Manager in working with Project Managers to ensure that agreed procedures for managing and reporting on the projects are consistently and effectively applied.
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for:
1. 1. Programme Management
Obtaining regular fortnightly update reports from project managers covering the 40 current capital projects.
Updating the Key Events Schedule (KES) on a fortnightly basis, using the reports on each project obtained from the project managers and drafting the resulting fortnightly Dashboard Report.
Maintaining the Key Events Schedule on an ongoing basis, ensuring that it provides an up to date view of the current position and progress on all projects.
Present complex, sensitive or contentious information to large groups using a wide range of media to influence.
To analyse and interpret complex information and situations and make judgements and recommendations.
Updating the Master Projects Programme (which includes Strategic Projects, Capital Projects, the PEAT Plan, Building Improvement Projects, Backlog and Planned Maintenance and Information Technology and Telephones) on a day to basis, ensuring that the Programme always shows the current position.
Updating other programmes and spreadsheets on a regular basis and as required for reporting progress on the overall Programme as required by the Senior Programme Manager or other senior managers.
Drafting programmes, spreadsheets, reports and other presentation formats as required by the Senior Programme Manager or Team Manager, Programme and Project Support.
Working with the Senior Programme Manager to ensure that effective programme controls including planning, reporting, risk and issue management, quality and budget control are consistently and effectively applied.
