We are looking for an operational cost specialist to work in a FUN dynamic and exciting environment. We put a lot of investment into our colleagues and are committed to ensure that you receive the relevant training to provide you with the opportunity to progress.

As an operational cost specialist, you will be part of a team that delivers cost control and reporting that collectively manages circa £250m annual OPEX budget used to pay Asda's technology suppliers who provide Asda with support or services.

The role is responsible for the annual spend of specific suppliers and ensuring the relevant governance has been adhered to, with documented reporting, planning and flagging of pending renewal cycles.

Your Role

  • Annual budget planning process & delivery

  • Financial "month end" commercial administration

  • Management and control of first year maintenance budgets (FYM)

  • Identify and drive, through cost reports ways to deliver continual financial accuracy, risks and opportunities.

  • Management and control of license management including inventory, forecasting of costs and usage volumes.

  • Ensure licence partner deliver to their contract both commercially and operationally achieving SLAs at a high level and all obligations are met.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings - (save money work smarter)

  • Work with internal partners including:- supplier managers, finance, procurement and architecture

Candidate Description

  • Commercial acumen

  • Experience of SAP

  • Financial Forecasting experience

  • Good communications skills

  • Stakeholder management experience

  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving

  • Ability to work cross functionally

  • Open to current C8 and high performing zone D Colleagues

    Desirable requirements

  • Knowledge of the Asda contractual governance process

  • License Management experience

  • Experience of managing partners / suppliers

  • Experience using ServiceNow ITSM tooling.
