Northern Logistics Warehouse Manager

Job Description

Rullion have an exciting opportunity for an Logistics Engineer (Area Warehouse Manager) to work with a world leading Rolling Stock company based out of their Rail Depot in Manchester.

This role will require you to travel to various Rail Depots in the Northern Region of the UK, offering a tailored service to our client. Support will be available, however you will be responsible for the planning of mobilisation and demobilisation of facilities


Typical working hours are 37 hours per week over a 5 day working week. However their maybe travel time as of when required to other locations.

Umbrella Company and PAYE options are available, as this role falls inside of IR35.

You will need to understand the needs of the logistics business and transforming those specifics into clear and efficient solutions to support the logistics requirements. He/she is the prime transformation officer for Global initiatives and translating them into the regional logistics sites. The Warehouse Manager will also be able to identify gaps, map solutions and implement sustainable improvements to the existing logistics solutions for the sites in their region.


Accountabilities:
The position may require the functional management of a team of up to 10 people.

Roles & Responsibilities:
* Continuous Improvement
o 5's To support the Supply Chain continuous improvement within offices & stores and that they are compliant with colour codes, signage and standards set by the department
o To validate Lineside Locations in terms of storage location usage, validation of correlating SAP with storage mediums, mobilisation/demobilisation, repairs and new design installations.
o To create and mobilise Kaizen 2P Events and generate current and future state plans so that implementation matrices are used in line with internal and external customers expectations.
o To insure UK& Ire Audit and KPI information is current and presentable at all times.

Project Planning:
o To view bill of materials/warehouse/store stocks and assess storage mediums, warehouse/location capacities, design solutions to fit requirements and deliver projects.
o Be Responsible for forecasting resource, costs, MHE requirements and deliverables to make the project a success
o To create and develop project plans that deliver objectives, timelines, milestones and achievements to be presentable to management at any given moment in time.
o To work with customer to create project stability by resolving process/procedural issues, bottlenecks and to include KPI's to monitor progress
o Be able to create and demonstrate computer aided drawings (CAD) to both internal customers and for suppliers to understand objectives.

Environmental, Safety & Health:
o For Health and Safety requirements the Warehouse Manager is to insure that he/she has adequate knowledge to follow the Zero Deviation Programme. He or she should also be able to provide returns on experience if there are failures within the health & safety remit.
o To insure contractors follow WPP, RAMS, Induction and are managed correctly throughout the whole safety process so that high risk tasks are monitored at all times by the Warehouse Manager and his/her associated colleague

Site Demobilisation/Mobilisation:
o The Warehouse Manager should be able to
o Obtain clear objectives of the requirement, have clear dates of completions/start-ups, access to site plans, Department Assets, project status and timelines
o Be able to communicate with all players within the remit and assign project actions, costs and updates.
o Deliver timescales of completion/start-ups and have monitors in place to insure failures are captured and identified in order to rectify.
o Identify resource and plant requirements to demobilise/mobilise the site safely.
o Identify factors to close out/open up projects fully
o Be able to provide CAD layouts and plans to show mobilisation ideas and close out agreements for the final solution.
o Be able to provide indicative costs and lead-times of delivering the project
o Be able to show a timeline of the project to be implemented

Qualifications and Experience Levels:
o Relevant business/commercial degree is preferred, HND, BTec Professional Level 5 award or equivalent.
o A good understanding of Material handling equipment (vehicles, plant, storage mediums, automated storage systems, technology and Safety Systems)
o Must have good management knowledge and has experience in managing People from recruitment, EHS, training, planning, controlling, motivating, team building and coordinating staff.
o Would be desirable if the Warehouse Manager has managed Kaizen 2p, waste, VSM, 5's, quality standards and has sound EHS knowledge Prior experience of working within a supply chain, logistics, transportation, and warehouse/store environment with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics process and procedures with at least 3 years' experience in a warehouse/materials management
