We are looking for an experienced Marketing and Communications professional with Stakeholder Engagement experience. The person will need to have strong copywriting and editing skills to work with us to promote fusion energy - a safe, sustainable, green, and exciting new form of energy.

Working in the Communications team, based in Culham, Oxford, the role requires the implementation of proactive marcomms strategies through internal and external channels, as well as stakeholder engagement with foreign audiences. The role has a dedicated focus on robotics, but will assist with wider UKAEA activities.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Marketing and Communications Specialist:

The role will involve working with staff within the Communications department and the RACE (Remote Applications in Challenging Environments) Business Divisional Head to ensure activity supports the successful delivery of UKAEA's goals.

Reporting to the Head of External Communications and RACE Divisional Head, you will:

  • Be the go-to marketing and communications specialist for RACE
  • Proactively market RACE as a division of UKAEA by communicating UKAEA's key messages using internal and external channels
  • Work with UKAEA's Marketing Manager to coordinate and communicate UKAEA's business activities, as per its marketing plan to target select audiences and bring in new ones where appropriate
  • Develop marketing and communications collateral, which includes the drafting of e-mails for mailshots, press releases, opinion pieces, features, web copy, case studies, branded goods, events memorabilia, and other items for internal and external use
  • Assist with the management of specific events such as webinars and conferences bespoke to RACE
  • Develop and maintain diplomatic relations with key stakeholders in Japan and further afield and be responsible for those relationships
  • Build relationships with senior personnel across UKAEA

The role will be based at UKAEA, Oxford. UKAEA also offer the opportunity of a hybrid working environment.

The successful candidate will have a degree, relevant professional qualifications or at least five years' experience working in marketing and communications.
