The main focus of the role is the implementation, improvement & maintenance of all site financial controls and processes whilst providing a service to the wider site management team that assists in the continuous improvement of site efficiency & cost. Work with the Operations Finance Manager and site team to provide financial analysis, reporting and forecasting.
Daily & weekly activities & reporting
Oversee raw materials reconciliation with any variances investigated and understood as well as suggesting improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
Attend daily site meetings to understand risks and opportunities to incorporate in financial analysis and reporting
Assist with site purchase order process, raising, receipting, and authorising orders as required.
Overall management of site invoice matching working with accounts payable team and site teams to develop an efficient accurate process
Management of the site shop / vending machine processes and procedures
Input data (or oversee data inputs) to the site yield file ensuring data is reconciled to IFS and yields are accurate.
Review spends weekly with department budget holders.
Provide a weekly financial forecast for site overheads versus budget with clear explanations
Ensure any capex orders are processed correctly and keep each projects tracker up to date regularly Monthly & annual activities & reporting
Month-end close processing including journals, accruals, prepayments etc.
Complete monthly management accounts for the site including variance analysis, clear overall summary reports and meaningful commentary
Use financial analysis to highlighting trends and work with the site to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Complete monthly rolling forecasts for the site including variance analysis, clear overall summary reports and meaningful commentary
Work with the site to identify and report of opportunities and risks.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations ensuring these are clear and accurate with meaningful explanations and backup data.
Complete annual budgets for the site including variance analysis, clear overall summary reports and meaningful commentary.
From the annual budget determine the site standard costing and update the system annually
Provide clear and accurate information in response to any external audit queries
Proactive regular review of all financial processes and procedures, ensuring financial risks are covered, recommending, and implementing changes and improvements as required. Team Management/ leadership
Management, support and development for the site finance assistant
Management, support and development for the site shop staff (as required)
Demonstrate behaviours and be a visible senior leader at the site
