About the Role: The Project Manager leads their delivery team to ensure the fundamentals of Project Management excellence are achieved. This includes analysis, governance, planning, managing finances and delivering value. As a PM of the Future, they should role model a desire to develop their skills and experience, create space to learn and collaborate, demonstrate resilience and adaptability, confidence, and a desire to innovate and test new ideas. The Project Manager will understand, embrace and be able to select with confidence the most appropriate tools and methods to deliver change. They should strive to establish relationships across role communities, change teams and business areas to maximise opportunities for continuous improvement through shared learnings. Coaching others in their team to achieve delivery excellence is also a key part of the role.
Delivers own small-scale or medium-scale projects by working within an established Programme management plan.
Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established knowledge management systems.
Delivers outcomes by leading others and working within established systems.
Sets short term objectives and helps handle the performance of direct reports by working within performance management systems, achieves planned commitments by developing short-term and/or medium-term work schedules
Delivers prescribed outcomes for a designated area, using risk management systems to ensure the organisation is not exposed to undue risks.
Takes ownership for delivering a prescribed budget for own area of the organisation and/or conducts complex analyses on budget progress in other areas while working within established systems.
Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management Programme with guidance from a project/Programme manager.
Knowledge and Experience:
Can deliver both Business Change and IT Change projects/programmes.
Track record of delivering results - gives colleagues autonomy to execute business strategy, whilst remaining personally accountable for delivering on promises.
A strong Risk & Compliance mindset - proactively assesses and analyses relevant threats and missed opportunities and develops effective risk mitigation plans in response to threats.
