Virgin Media, the UK's fastest broadband network, has recently joined forces with O2, the UK's No.1 mobile platform, to create a strong, competitive and dynamic national connectivity champion.

Virgin Media O2 is embarking on a major, once in a generation network upgrade programme to provide Fibre to the Home (FTTH) services to existing and future customers. FTTH will enable the provision of next generation entertainment services to Virgin Media O2 customers. This network upgrade, which will include installation of new street furniture (if required) to house the new FTTH enabling technologies, new fibre optic cables through our existing duct network and the activation of new FTTH enabling technologies., This role will use plan data and insights to provide continuous improvement plans for operational delivery teams and Partners and support the Programme team to identify risks to delivery, issues, and opportunities. You will lead the central operational planning function, which is responsible for creating, maintaining, tracking and reporting on the Fibre Upgrade Programme master plan, as well as establish accurate, current, and reliable project portfolio planning & reporting across the operational delivery lifecycle and its delivery partners.

Candidate Description

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Several years' experience working in programme planning / project management

  • Experience in developing strategies and plans for large scale delivery programmes

  • Subject matter expert in Microsoft Project

  • Sound Planning skills with the ability to foresee potential issues and implement change and contingencies as well as being an effective decision-maker in accordance with business requirements and constraints

  • Ability to rapidly build rapport and form strong business relationships across multiple locations
