Junior Business Analyst

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Junior Business Analyst for a 6 months contract based in London (2/3 days in the office - flexible).

Purpose of the Role:

  • To work closely with the Business management and marketing teams in order to understand their requirements and processes. To document them and gain signoff of requirements and specifications from end-users.
  • To understand how the IT applications support the business and their workflow processes
  • To analyse business issues and requests to facilitate technical solution options for consideration by the business and IT
  • To produce detailed functional specifications which can be used for IT development, liaising with the IT team to ensure:
    • requirements and specifications are well communicated and understood
    • developments meet business needs

As a Junior Business Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Requirements gathering techniques: interviews, workshops, user observation
  • Requirements capture: use cases, mock-ups, process flows
  • Functional specification documentation
  • Process modelling and re-engineering
  • Planning
  • Execution
  • Gaining user sign off
  • Work stream Management:
  • Participating in planning, co-ordination and execution of work streams
  • Clear and concise documentation of business requirements, functional specifications etc.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Some relevant experience of requirement gathering for a IT Development team and end-user support and training
  • A proven understanding of full project life cycles
  • Some experience in Investment Banking is advantageous but not essential
  • Initiative, able to drive tasks forward on their own as appropriate
  • Flexibility, able to work alone or within small teams, open to new practices & methodologies in a rapidly changing and multi-cultural environment
  • Professionalism, needs to be credible in front of senior staff, able to identify relevant topics and drive discussions and actions toward conclusion
  • A proven quick study able to pick up the processes and technology we use to progress the goals of the team without too much hands-on assistance.
