This is a very exciting time for the Payments IT Team as we transform how we operate within the Bank as part of the Payments Centre of Excellence.

Payments IT is responsible for deliveries in the world of Santander payments, covering all payments methods both domestic and international. We service all our internal and external customer's Payments needs in a secure, reliable and innovative manner.

  • Contributing to the strategic design, build and maintenance of our new Payments systems.

  • Implementing microservices.

  • Working in an agile environment.

Candidate Description

  • Previous microservice development experience with Java 8, 11 or above using Spring Boot.

  • Experience of implementing Restful web services using either non-blocking or reactive.

  • Experience defining OAS or Swagger API Specifications.

  • Integration with messaging systems, such as Kafka, RabbitMq, JMS.

  • Strong SQL knowledge and ability to understand and create Queries (with joins), Tables, Views, etc

  • Knowledge of how to apply Test Driven Development, Unit Testing and/or Integration Testing using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, Hamcrest, AssertJ.

    It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Previous production support experience, demonstrating an understanding of how to identify and troubleshoot problems. Suggest fixes and/or workarounds to common problems.

  • Developed continuous delivery or continuous integration pipelines using Jenkins or Github Actions.

  • Hands on experience with Kubernetes, understands the basics required to deploy a Docker image. Ideally has used Istio, Flux, Flagger previously.

  • Understands the basic AWS services, such as EC2, EKS, Load Balancers, Route 53, MSK.
