Internal Sales Executive

As part of the Internal Sales Team, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding sales and profit from existing customers. You will also work towards increasing our customer service level and expand our customer base. In addition, you will work closely with the General Manager to identify and develop new accounts and assist colleagues to achieve the same from their areas of responsibility.

Job Content:

  • Receive and process customer enquiries and orders by phone, e-mail, trade counter, etc.

  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries both verbally and in written form.

  • To maintain a pro-active call out programme to accounts and record the outcome of these calls.

  • To create and maintain customer quotations and price lists as required.

  • To decide with the Sales Office Supervisor key target accounts and agree methods to obtain the business and reporting procedures to monitor the level of business at these accounts.

  • In conjunction with the Sales office Supervisor to manage their sales territory so as to achieve the budgeted sales and profit.

  • To develop contacts and relationships with customers that ensure first choice when placing orders, first refusal in any competitive situation and to be familiar with customer regular requirements.

  • To understand the properties and applications of the Company's product range.

  • To be aware of competitive activity and to report changes in the marketplace.

  • To maintain a daybook and other procedures in accordance with the Company's procedures.

  • To assist in ensuring accurate stocks are maintained to service customer requirements.

  • To ensure any customer claims for credit or damages are dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner.

  • To understand the role of Credit Control and all other departments of the Company and promote good communications with all of them.

  • Undertake general office administration as required.

  • To carry out other reasonable tasks which may be required.

    Key Issues

  • Good communication skills are required both verbally and written.

  • Must be IT literate. Knowledge of Sage, Word and Excel would be an advantage.

  • Maintain regular contact with all your personal key accounts as agreed in your Sales Plan and increase the customer base and profitability of the business.

  • Work with the General Manager and Sales Office Supervisor to increase sales and profit to existing and potential accounts in your designated area and to review, with the Sales Office Supervisor the results of these efforts.

  • To understand the Company administrative processes, including credit control and the requirements of the Company procedures.

  • Assist in the total effort of the Company in meeting and exceeding its budgeted sales and profit targets and in the smooth and efficient working of all areas and other personnel.

  • Maintain safe working practises and follow Health and Safety procedures.

    Occasional Duties

  • Visit customers as required.

  • Involvement in customer/supplier meetings as required.

  • Attend training/seminars/exhibitions as required.

  • Participate in annual stock take as required.
