An exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Readiness Lead has arisen within the FedEx Express International Infrastructure & Operations team.

You will be accountable for scoping the support requirements across the Design and Build and Run organisation teams, and for the quality of delivery and successful transfer to Infrastructure Operations for new and changed services in line with ITIL best practice.

You will liaise between business owners, Demand and PMO, Project Managers, Build and Design teams, Partners/Suppliers communicating between all key stakeholders to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of new services into the Infrastructure Operational Run organisation.

You will ensure Service Management procedures are implemented within the Infrastructure Operations team and any deviations and risks are measured, reported and maintained to promote continual improvement.

This role will work in collaboration with multiple partners and suppliers, across various disciplines and is responsible for ensuring the Infrastructure and Operations team is ready to support the new and/or changed services.

Liaising with internal technical subject matter experts and business owners of key platforms and processes you will ensure end to end Operations Transition Acceptance criteria are met.,

  • Act as a gate keeper function that ensures effective Transfer to Infrastructure Operations in compliance with Acceptance criteria and ensuring all Infrastructure Support Teams are ready to support the service.

  • Ensure that the functional and non functional requirements have been scoped, designed and are able to be supported in the Infrastructure Run organisation.

  • Works with key business stakeholders and understands demand, projects to enable a impact assessment to be performed on the Infrastructure supportability of the new or changed service

  • Ensure that appropriate resourcing, training, tooling, support and documentation is delivered with a formal project sign-off from all key stakeholders.

  • Represents the Infrastructure and Operations stakeholders at all project meetings to assist in the definition and implementation of the acceptance criteria for both new and changing services.

  • Work with Project Managers, Business Owners, Service Owners, Managed Service Partners, Operations teams and 3rd parties to ensure that projects are able to be supported

  • Ensure all operational support material is completed to a high standard by all relevant Design and Infrastructure Operations functions.

  • Ensure all non-functional requirements are defined and delivered against the agreed Infrastructure Acceptance Criteria.

  • Ensure an effective set of performance metrics and service levels are delivered for new services.

  • Capture any appropriate RAIDs and ensure appropriate prioritisation, ownership and remedial actions are in place for launch. .

Candidate Description

  • Education to degree level or equivalent IT industry experience.

  • Strong Service Management background,

  • Experience of onboarding new services into an operations environment

  • Thorough understanding of Service Design and able to translate non-functional requirements to enable Operations teams to run the service

  • Good knowledge of ITIL best practices and process

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Working knowledge of business processes
