An exciting opportunity has been made available to join us as an Infrastructure Manager on a permanent basis. Our Infrastructure teams which comprise of Unix/Linux, Wintel and Virtualisation are continually pushing the boundaries to ensure that all areas of the business are fully supported. Our teams support, create, develop, and improve the infrastructure and are proud to be a key area responsible for the management of data resources in Santander.

The difference you'll make.

  • Operating as a key interface between the business and infrastructure teams to ensure the required infrastructure capability is in place, working closely with delivery/project management to drive the tactical and strategic programs to the infrastructure platforms

  • Developing close working relationships with the technology architecture and design functions to influence and ensure technical delivery of end-to-end solutions.

  • Cultivating a culture of continuous improvement through infrastructure analysis, optimisation and consolidation and bringing industry best practice into high performing teams

  • Leading multiple teams of talented infrastructure engineers to build, enhance and maintain the infrastructure platforms

  • Managing the production, agreement, execution and assurance of detailed plans for the management of infrastructure (including maintenance, upgrade, replacement and decommissioning)

  • Contributing to the drive of automation and continuous improvement of services and support

Candidate Description

  • Proven & demonstrable IT experience, along with significant experience of establishing, developing and leading critical infrastructure management teams or functions.

  • Excellent people leadership skills, with experience in coordinating multiple activities for teams, against multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Experience in delivering and supporting resilient, scalable and mission critical infrastructure

  • Ability to manage the production, agreement, execution and assurance of detailed plans for the management of infrastructure (including maintenance, upgrade, replacement and decommissioning)

  • Demonstrable track record of successful delivery of IT infrastructure and execution of strategic change within a complex environment

  • Establish, own, and continuously improved the methodologies, processes, systems, controls, capabilities, and relationships required to transform the management of infrastructure throughout all stages of the end-to-end lifecycle.

    It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Excellent technical knowledge and in-depth understanding of the end-to-end provision of IT Infrastructure services

  • Contributed to the drive of automation and continuous improvement of services and support

  • Experience leading teams who have supported infrastructure initiatives including Capacity and Configuration Management, Patch and Vulnerability Management, Migrations and Upgrades

  • Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies including Linux, Windows and VMware
