Incident Response Lead - Global Business Resilience (Europe and Africa)

  • Work in collaboration of business stakeholders to develop and maintain Crisis/Incident Management Protocols, Business Continuity Plans, and Emergency Response Plans, for the basic business processes and operations functions.

  • Work in collaboration with IT teams on revisions and execution of Disaster Recovery plans, for the basic business technologies they support, including applications, infrastructure platforms, and physical locations with critical assets such as data centers.

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and participation in crisis/incident management.

  • Provide support and recommendations over activities and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

  • Work closely with the Governance & Risk Management team.

  • Support the development and implementation of the Global Business resilience strategic approach to Operational Resilience, specifically crisis/incident response.

  • Support Resilience team to plan coordinate & prepare for regulatory engagements.

  • Serve as an interface for incident management/crisis management and resilience for senior leadership, regional stakeholders.

  • Lead incident, crisis, continuity & recovery activities for the respective region/localities.

  • Drive operational and business resiliency efforts as part of a consistent global initiative.

  • Monitor, respond to, manage, and escalate (where appropriate) all incidents, crises and business continuity events and act as the subject matter expert to coordinate directly with senior leadership. impacted businesses and operations teams

  • Assume a strong supporting role and at times leadership role in response and recovery activities during business interruptions and crisis events.

  • Coordinate and oversee crisis/incident management procedures and emergency action plans both at facilities and at the Corporate level to ensure a state of readiness and preparedness for crisis management.

  • Responsible for oversight and implementation of the global GBR program, as dictated by leadership, including but not limited to, driving consistency of GBR efforts, maintenance, continuous improvement, training, and adherence to all applicable policies and standards.

  • Coordinate regional and country level exercises with GBR leads and local incident management teams.

  • Track, manage, and close issues identified by exercises, reviews, audits, and incidents.

  • Serve as an administrator for documentation retention and incident tracking both through ServiceNow and MS Teams

  • Drive compliance of standardized metrics collection and reporting cadence for GBR

  • Responsible for interacting with, and influencing, employees at all levels and in all functions of the organization, including senior leadership. Must be able to grow and foster strong relationships with employees across functions and geographic locations within their respective region

Candidate Description

Cognizant's Global Business Resilience team is looking for an Integrated Incident Response Lead to support Europe and Africa. This is a new role and will report into the Head of Global Business Resilience Incident Response - and will support activity across the region. This role will need someone with experience of handling incident/crisis response effectively as well as look at best practice adoption across the team.,

  • Good level of hands-on experience in Incident Response/Crisis Management, including conducting the response to crisis incidents and tabletop exercises

  • Broad knowledge of Crisis Management/Incident Response principles and practices

  • Strong knowledge in BCM principles strongly desired

  • Experience with MS Teams and ServiceNow desired

  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills

  • Strong bias for action and ownership

  • Ability to work cross functionally and deliver results

  • Experience with ISO 22301 or similar business continuity standards preferred

  • CEM, CBCP, ISO22301 / ISO27001 Lead Implementer or Lead auditor certification or other incident response/crisis management certifications considered a plus

  • Knowledge of IT Disaster Recovery concepts. Cloud knowledge would be advantageous

  • Basic understanding of data backup, recovery etc.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present ideas clearly and effectively

  • Strong written and oral communication skills are a must have

  • Logical and efficient approach to problem solving

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Highly self-motivated and directed Strong project management skills
