Reporting to the IAM Product Owner, and working alongside the IAM Solution Architect, the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer will provide technical leadership, and hands on, development, implementation, configuration, and project early life support of the IAM services across the university, in line with IAM strategy. The role will work closely with other teams across the Infrastructure and Applications ensuring thorough testing, and handover and enabling the day-to-day IAM operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for improving day-to-day operational activities relating to provisioning and management of all staff and student identities across the university in accordance with university policy
Implement the assignment of roles, access, and licenses where appropriate
Implementing and maintaining Role Based Access Control (RBAC) standards and documentation
Performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis on authentication, automation and integration issues and escalating to the IAM Solutions Architect when necessary
Acting in a technical advisory role for colleagues across the university seeking to understand application authorisation requirements via SAML, Active Directory or other available functionality to ensure standardisation across the university.
This will include involvement in projects as required, as well as engaging with colleagues in Solution Development who support, maintain and enhance existing applications
Monitoring of automated tasks and processes within Active directory and Azure AD, and remediating where necessary
Assist with the implementation of approved strategies, policies, processes, designs, and standards appropriate to the role
Ability to deliver results within agreed timescales, working both independently and collaboratively as required.
Work in partnership with users, sponsors, and other key stakeholders to determine their evolving needs
Ensure that ITIL best practices and standards are adhered to
