Who we are and how best to support us;
We live in 2 Supported living bungalows in Shipdham. We are 5 females and 1 male. Our ages range from 63 to 90.
The shifts to support us are 07:30-14:30/14:30-21:30/21:30-07:30. Some staff like to work 07:30-21:30 so this is also a possibility. We have both male and female staff supporting us.
2 of us enjoy going to Day Centre during the week. 1 of us needs support in taking us and picking us up from there so its important that you drive a manual transmission car.
We all need full support with personal care, dressing, support with our meals and drinks and general household tasks. We also need full support with Moving and Handling including hoisting us into our wheelchairs. You will receive all training to be able to support us with this. You do not need to have any previous experience as we can provide this for you. Although we require a lot of support it is never boring here at Pound Green Lane and we love to have fun.
We like to go out on activities and for meals and need support to do this regularly. We thoroughly enjoy accessing the community and have also been on holidays before Covid-19.
We all have communication needs but you will soon learn how to communicate with us once you get to know us better.
Why not apply and come see how you could fit in with us here at Pound Green Lane.
The individuals we support enjoy a lot of community access, so confidence in lone working is essential. We are therefore looking for Support Workers with previous experience who can hit the ground running. However we will still provide a full training programme that is specific to the needs of the individuals we support.
You'll join the team working on a rota that includes early, late, weekend, night and Bank Holiday shifts.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a motivated and determined team. So make a great career move.
