An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Marketing & Events Coordinator to join a public sector organisation based in East London.

The role will work within the organisation's film office and will work to build, implement and deliver inclusive and innovative digital marketing strategies and campaigns to promote the film sector.

The successful applicant will have experience managing and developing marketing and communication plans with experience of delivering and innovating digital media content and comms campaigns. A good understanding of the current UK film and TV market is essential.

Key duties will include:

  • Lead on driving forward the Film Office's social media and digital marketing presence

  • Creating and delivering engaging, inclusive, informative and fun content and marketing materials across the digital assets and in-person events

  • Deliver targeted and inclusive marketing campaigns and events, that are cultural aware and engage new/existing audiences to the new education and training offer (to attract new learners), local businesses offer (to expand their business uptake and connect them to incoming film and tv productions) and for local community engagement (to promote film activities and grow a new crew database for prospective new entry/experienced crew members)

  • Assist in managing a variety of in-person and digital events, including career days, industry training sessions, workshops, location visits, film screenings and festivals

  • Co-lead with planning, venue and merchandise sourcing, budgeting, logistics and Health & Safety for all in-person events

  • Maintain and consistently evolve existing digital channels in line with moving trends, which include the new Film website, Instagram and Twitter and take the lead to introduce and grow new profiles for Facebook, Tik Tok, LinkedIn and YouTube

  • Apt at using creative software's such as Canva, photoshop, Mailchimp or similar apps to create GIFs and/or engaging designs for social media, monthly newsletters and materials

  • Take the lead on delivering all marketing activity in an innovative way, creating and scheduling daily digital content, developing wider campaigns which feed into a digital and communications delivery plan

  • Able to produce copy that is accurate, timely, relevant, concise, thoroughly grammar and spell checked

  • Work collaboratively with the organisation's communication department and stakeholder partners, to provide accurate content for stories regarding the latest production successes and education/training/business opportunities, which they can promote via traditional media outlets, which will raise the profile and reputation of the Film Office

  • Prepare regular feedback to the team on digital marketing effectiveness, chase deadlines in good time, track outputs to guide future content and manage analytics for the website and social media

  • Create a digital prospectus via the website to cross promote with the new studios the local officer, which would include available places to film, business services, accommodation, local people for employment and production crew trainees

  • Have a good level of photography and videography skills for capturing content (smartphone and camera will be provided) and be able to travel across the borough as required to photograph events, filming and career trainees

  • Take the lead on the development of the new crew database, capturing data of trainee placements and maintain this with the support of the Film Assistant
