Counter Fraud Manager (G7) - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 6 Months

Location: Hybrid - Remote & 2-3 days per week in London or Birmingham

The individual(s) will engage with a wide range of stakeholders both inside and outside the Department to help BEIS and our delivery partners identify and develop effective counter fraud policies and processes.

The post holder will join a small friendly team working at the forefront of the Government's Counter Fraud Profession. As the key link between policy teams, delivery organisations and law enforcement, these roles will suit those who excel at team working and influencing to deliver through others.

As a Counter Fraud Manager your main responsibilities will be:

  • Leading the Fraud Risk Assessment & Fraud Management Plan work within the Energy Scheme Programme - working with policy teams & devising / managing the Fraud.
  • Leading on the roll-out of the BEIS action plan & demonstrating compliance with HMG wide standards, focusing on the post-assurance activities.
  • Leading on the discrete areas of work to develop & implement policies / procedures to manage potential for fraud, bribery & corruption.
  • Proactively raising the profile of counter-fraud work to support policy teams across BEIS & it's arm's length bodies.
  • Leading improvements to performance reporting & accountability for counter-fraud performance across the BEIS group, working closely with investigation colleagues, the Cabinet Office, arms-length bodies & other government departments to deliver maximum value from current activities to achieve best practice.
  • Briefing ministers, senior officials, internal & external stakeholders and providing high quality written and oral presentation of policy options and counter-fraud advice, based on the best data and intelligence available.

You'll have relevant experience in:

  • Leadership experience in Fraud Risk assessments within large, complex schemes or environments.
  • Experience of working in a counter-fraud environment - areas of fraud risk assessing, raising fraud awareness & Government Functional Standards.
  • Experience of data protection & data management.
  • MS Office proficiency & experience of working with Clue / Spotlight / CBAS or equivalent.
  • An accreditation in Fraud Risk assessment - desirable.
