Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Communications and Engagement Officer to join Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Police. This position is to be based out of the Police HQ in Winfrith for a period of 6 months. You will be assisting with the delivery of planned communications activity in support of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

What you will be doing:

• Contributing to the provision of a timely, compliance and relevant news service to the media, public and colleagues

• Assisting media conferences and events

• Day-to-day new monitoring and analysis

• Using professional knowledge and experience to proactively, confidently and quickly advise and influence colleagues on the best communications approach for planned and reactive issues

• Producing a range of high quality communication materials

Candidate Description

• Good research, analytical and formal evaluation skills

• Confident working under pressure

• Sound problem solving skills

• Excellent written and formal communication skills

• Qualified to degree level in corporate communications or journalism - not essential
