We have an exciting opportunity to join Virgin Media Business as a Commercial Manager. Within this role, you will play a pivotal part in the success of our Commercial Enterprise team, by means of providing top-tier commercial leadership and governance on major and sophisticated bids. This role has arisen due to an internal promotion with the current Commercial Manager moving in to a more senior role.
As one of our highly valued commercial leaders, you can expect to own all commercial aspects of our customer propositions, ensuring compliance with our wider commercial strategy. You'll work closely with our Bid teams, to help design solutions and proposals on behalf of our customers, with a view to optimising both win rate and profitability. Having a keen eye for detail will also be key, as you'll be accountable for not only pricing customer propositions, but also identifying and mitigating any risks that may surface. Other parts of your role will include leading customer discussions to identify and confirm customer commercial and contractual requirements for relevant opportunities, leading customer negotiations on relevant opportunities to a successful commercial conclusion for VMB, as well leading the development of the business case and P&L for all relevant/designated opportunities.
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
Experience of working in a similar capacity, responsible for taking ownership of commercial opportunities and winning large contracts through competitive procurement processes.
Solid experience of building cases in a similar role
A proven history of building meaningful, collaborative partner relationships, across all levels of seniority - we want to see your keenness to engage phenomenal team play with a diverse variety of people!
A good level of numeracy, with an ability to quantify risks and interpret customer, financial & operational insights.
Strong presentation skills, with demonstrable experience of presenting to senior management, both internally and externally.
Other stuff we're looking for
A good understanding of standardised procurement methods and practices would be useful, but not crucial.
