We're looking for a Cloud Architect to join the IT Data Architecture team!

The IT Data Architecture team plays a pivotal role in setting the strategic technical direction of Virgin Media O2 data platforms, services, and end to end delivery. Exploitation of data is key for both the business and technology strategies.

You'll work on large migrations and innovative projects using cloud native and cutting-edge technologies. This is a key role within the wider Data Management function in Virgin Media O2 and is pivotal to delivering our Cloud vision.

It will be your responsibility to lead detailed technical assessments of current state of enterprise applications, infrastructure and data, and architect a path to transformation into a cloud enterprise. You'll develop high level architecture design and application modernisation solutions on GCP full-stack.

Candidate Description

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a similar Cloud Architect role with a specific focus on GCP full-stack

  • Experience of architecting Google Data and Integration solutions (DataProc, DataFlow, Pub/Sub) and Big Query

  • Experience in implementing applications onto cloud platforms and usage of their major components in order to define cloud native application architectures across real time and streaming platforms

  • Hands on Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform & knowledge of DevOps.

  • Deep, hands-on design and development background in GCP, across a wide range of GCP services

    The other stuff we're looking for

    We'd also love you to bring;

  • A certification in either: Google's Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Data Engineer, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer.

  • TOGAF certified
