Our regional trading branches predominantly focus on new business trading and profitable growth, and we now have a tremendous opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our established NIG team in Glasgow on a permanent basis!

This role will be hybrid working, visiting brokers across Scotland 4 days per week and 1 day per week from our Glasgow office., As a Business Development Manager you will proactively support the regional sales team to manage the regional broker panel through effective business development strategies and collaboration with key stakeholders, to achieve growth and profit.

  • Manage a Panel of brokers and deliver key targets.

  • Have a calling plan in place with each of your brokers. Ensure visibility within your broker panel

  • Apply the distribution strategy to the broker panel, influencing the use of segmentation to prioritise trading activity focusing on the priority segments.

  • Provide your broker panel with regular broker MI highlighting core discussion points, helping to drive effective management of their activity. Have in place a Broker business plan with each broker in your panel.

  • develop your market profile and marketing knowledge.

  • Be responsible for updating Agency records, commission schedules and general Agency database and segment changes for your brokers.

  • Be an external representative ensuring underwriting are sighted on your broker activity and look to support underwriters with quotes and renewals contributing to the broker relationship strategy driving profitable growth.

  • Manage the large risk prospect and deal prospect pipeline processes to ensure all information and deadlines are achieved

  • Ensure effective collaboration as required with the various teams around the business required to help your broker panel deliver budget
