Automation Engineer (VRNI & NSX-T)

Our client is a well-known building society with headquarters in Swindon; As one of the largest savings and mortgage providers in the UK, 15 million members are at the heart of everything they do.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for an Automation Engineer for a 6 month contract based fully remotely within the UK.

Purpose of the Role:

This is a major project working on the uplift of the Technical Guardrails underpinning the client's infrastructure. This will include collaboration on and independent creation of such technical Guardrails. The Guardrails are focused on helping them to deliver Infrastructure meeting the challenging Non-Functional Requirements one sees in Financial Services.

From a non-functional requirement perspective the core experience needs to be Resilience & Performance.

Technology focus, with NFR in mind, is on hosting technologies (Servers, Storage, Virtualisation, OS, Containers, etc.) and Middleware (SQL server, Message Bus, etc.).

As an Automation Engineer your responsibilities will be to:

  • Perform design workshops, assessment of existing environments, create low-level & high-level design documents.
  • Review and validate your and other team members' documents.
  • Drive project calls along with project managers and provide technical guidance.
  • Understanding of various 3rd party integrations with NSX-T and highlighting any interoperability issues.
  • Work with the engineering team and resolve issues faced during project execution.
  • In collaboration with other team members, you should be able to build a scalable and efficient model for NSX-T, vRealize Network Insight, NSX Advanced Load Balancer & NSX Security design & implementation.

What we require from the candidate:

  • NSX-T experience.
  • vNFRI experience.
  • VMWare Firewall, virtual security experience.
  • Experience of policy implementation by script.
  • Experience of migration and virtualisation of tech.

This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
