Application Support Engineer - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 12 Months

Contracting Authority: Greater Manchester Police

Location: Manchester/Remote

As an Application Support Engineer, you'll have:

  • Proven working experience as an Application Support Engineer / Analyst working in 2007 and 2010 Windows client environments running windows server 2003-2019
  • Hold recognised Microsoft qualifications (MCSA/ MCSE) or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within Microsoft server platforms.
  • Detailed experience of uplift and migrations of applications running on Windows servers.
  • Excellent knowledge of building new application environments in Windows server 2016 and 2019.
  • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity.
  • Hands on experience of working with domain controllers and administration domains.
  • Experience of setting up web services within windows environments.
  • Recent experience of creating and interpreting VISIO schematics and documentation.
  • Detailed experience of working within a change management environment with experience of contributing to change request documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work with other App Support Engineer / Analyst, DBA, System Administration, Project Managers and Change Mangers etc.
  • Experience of working with end users to assist with testing and operational confirmation.
  • Experience of documenting all aspects of project work.
  • Proven ability to work independently and problem solve.
  • Ability to attend GMP site as needed, recognising that this is an agile role.
