On behalf of Deutsche Bank, AMS are now looking for an AML Advisory to work in their Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) team based in Birmingham on a PAYE basis. The role is hybrid with 2 days per week in the office in Brindley Place. This is an initial 6 month day rate contract paid via PAYE with scope for extension.
Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Group is responsible for protecting Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations. AFC advise on ethical conduct, governance issues and keep our organisation up-to-date on regulatory and political challenges.
Overview:
The role holder will be responsible for the effective and timely execution of the respective Global Assurance Programme control requirements as set out in the AFC Assurance Manual that are designated as being the responsibility of the AFC Advisory Function in the Periodic Review, Financial Crime Investigations and AML Teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Review of clients to assess financial crime risks applying a risk based approach
- Review and complete AML and NLS escalations in relation to High Risk customers
- Review High Risk customers with special risk factors in accordance with local regulations and DB policy
- Evaluate transaction monitoring transactions and raise suspicious activity reports (SARs) where required to regulators
- Identify and escalate any identified sanctions or corruption concerns
- Ensure any potential suspicious transactions identified locally or via monitoring tools are escalated immediately for investigation
- Seek additional information from the business and other infrastructure functions regarding concerns identified through negative news media
- Provide AML guidance to the First Line Operations and other infrastructure functions on financial crime through the course of day to day business
- Carry out other tasks to aid the growth and development of the AFC Advisory function such as Quality Assurance, Controls Assurance, Training, Process and Procedures update etc
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good general AML knowledge with experience working in the financial services industry
- In-depth understanding of the UK regulatory environment/policies/legal framework as they relate to AML, Sanctions and ABC
- An understanding of financial crime risks
- An understanding of legal entity structures and organisation
- An understanding of legal and compliance issues of complex banking organisations
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with no loss of accuracy
