This is an exciting new opportunity for an agile coach to join a team evolving into product led teams and to support the transition to product led agile working practices. Working with the delivery squads to support them in addressing the challenges they uncover and supporting the agile advocate in sharing and promoting successes and innovation arising from squad activities and approaches., Key priorities and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Champion agile skills, culture and processes through training and coaching

  • Establish and build the Agile Excellence Chapter aligning with experts across Cambridge

  • Drive a dynamic community of colleagues from across Cambridge interested in learning best practice approaches from inside and outside Cambridge

  • Promote and support the formation and operation of guilds to maximise their value to the members and the wider organization.

  • Break down barriers and demystify misunderstandings about agile and help colleagues across Cambridge make the transition to Agile working

  • Support the delivery squads with ideas, resources and alternative perspectives regarding challenges and hurdles they encounter in their work

  • Mentor and support squad team members within Product Families

  • Perform the Scrum Master role as required to support Scrum/Kanban development teams, with a focus on facilitating delivery and building team togetherness and ability to self-organise.

Candidate Description

You will bring knowledge and experience of working and ideally implementing agile practices and have a clear appreciation of how the key principles of agile working come together to deliver value. You will have the vision to be able to appreciate how the promotion of successes and positive outcomes can influence other users and help generate demand for these practices.

You will also have the following insights and experience:

  • Understanding of the triple diamond model - particularly development, delivery and dual agile

  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, backed up with actual experience.

  • Experience of software application development and delivery

  • Accomplished trainer and coach with strong communication skills

  • Sound stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Building good relationships across teams, including Product Owners, Scrum Masters, development teams, business stakeholders, and others

  • Championing the value and benefits of guild activities, supporting and strengthening the guilds' value to the Chapters and squads

  • An evangelist for agile and better ways of working

  • Managing through influence and negotiation, being an enabler for success and a pragmatist.

  • Facilitate constructive communication and collaboration within and between product teams.

  • Fostering a culture of openness and awareness, helping establish a trusting and safe environment where problems and ideas can be raised openly

  • Keeping abreast and actively sharing knowledge of Agile practices such as continuous integration, test-driven development, automated testing, forecasting tools, etc.
